【摘要】:Aproperlydesigned,installedanddevelopedground-watermonitoringwell,constructedinaccordancewithPracticeD5092,shouldfacilitatecollectionofsamplesofgroundwaterthatcanbeanalyzedtodetermineboththephysicalandchemicalpropertiesofthatsample.Samplescollectedfromthesewellsthatrequireanalysisfordissolvedconstituentsshouldbefilteredinthefieldpriortochemicalpreservationandshipmenttothelaboratoryforanalysis.1.1Thisguidecoversmethodsforfieldfiltrationofground-watersamplescollectedfromground-watermonitoringwells,excludingsamplesthatcontainnon-aqueousphaseliquids(eitherDenseNon-AqueousPhaseLiquids(DNAPLs)orLightNon-AqueousPhaseLiquids(LNAPLs)).Methodsoffieldfiltrationdescribedhereincouldalsobeappliedtosamplescollectedfromwellsusedforotherpurposes.Laboratoryfiltrationmethodsarenotdescribedinthisguide.1.2Thisguideprovidesproceduresavailableforfieldfiltrationofground-watersamples.Theneedforsamplefiltrationforspecificanalytesshouldbedefinedpriortothesamplingeventanddocumentedinthesite-specificsamplingandanalysisplaninaccordancewithGuideD5903.Thedecisionshouldbemadeonaparameter-specificbasiswithconsiderationofthedataqualityobjectivesofthesamplingprogram,anyapplicableregulatoryagencyguidelines,andanalyticalmethodrequirements.1.3Thisguideoffersanorganizedcollectionofinformationoraseriesofoptionsanddoesnotrecommendaspecificcourseofaction.Thisguidecannotreplaceeducationorexperienceandshouldbeusedinconjunctionwithprofessionaljudgment.Notallaspectsofthisguidemaybeapplicableinallcircumstances.Thisguideisnotintendedtorepresentorreplacethestandardofcarebywhichtheadequacyofagivenprofessionalservicemustbejudged,norshouldthisguidebeappliedwithoutconsiderationofthemanyuniqueaspectsofaproject.Theword"Standard"inthetitleofthisguidemeansonlythattheguidehasbeenapprovedthroughtheASTMconsensusprocess.1.4Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
